Professional Development | Disney Theatrical Group

2013-Present

 
​As Manager of Education and Outreach at Disney Theatrical Group, Sarah collaborates with the Education team to facilitate a wide variety of professional developments each year. From facilitating professional development sessions for DTG's own teaching artist team, to training teaching artists at partner organizations, or providing professional developments for non-arts educators, Sarah is very comfortable in the professional development setting.
 
Student Production Workshop | Roundabout Theatre

2010-2013

 

​As Senior Program Associate at Roundabout Theatre Company, Sarah designed curriculum for and facilitated Student Prodution Workshop, an afterschool and summer program for NYC public high school students. Student Production Workshop is a student-run theatre company modeled after Roundabout's production process. During the school year, students would learn about the professional theatre-making process and then put it into practice in the summer by writing, directing, designing, and performing their own play in Roundabout's Blackbox Theatre. Sarah mentored the students involved, facilitated workshops, oversaw each rehearsal, and served as producer for their productions.

 

 

Dance & Drama Teacher | Urbana School District

​2008 - 2010

 

Sarah taught dance and drama at three elementary schools in Urbana, IL: Wiley Elementary School, Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School, and Thomas Paine Elementary School. Each school had its own unique school culture and Sarah designed two 6-week curriculums for each grade level at each school, one for dance and one for drama. At Martin Luther King Jr., a large population of the students were English Language Learners. At Thomas Paine, Sarah taught three self-contained Special Education classes as well. 

 

 

Student Teacher | St. Charles East High School

​2007

 

​Sarah facilitated four classes for sixteen weeks at St. Charles East High School in Illinois as part of her student teaching experience in the fall of 2007. The four drama classes comprised a mix population of freshmen - seniors. Two of the classes were beginning drama and two were advanced drama.

 

Student Teacher | Wredling Middle School

​2007

 

​Sarah facilitated three classes for sixteen weeks at Wredling Middle School in Illinois as part of her student teaching experience in the fall of 2007. She taught two sixth grade classes and one eigth grade class.
